SHORT NORTH STAGE PRODUCTION MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

Short North Stage in Columbus, OH is seeking a full time Production Manager with a technical background.  We are an Equity, professional theater focused on large scale musicals and plays with two unique spaces in the Historic Garden Theater.  We are seeking experienced candidates with strong skills in organizing artists, designers, creative teams and staff for smooth production tech weeks; expertise with an Ion LED Lighting system, New sound system, and basic carpentry; and expert communication skills.  Responsibilities would include:

*Scenic Shop check ins and updates to staff

*Assisting Artistic and Executive directors in preparing a production

*Hiring crew

*Creating a calendar and schedule for each production’s crew, designers, tech staff, and artists to ensure a smooth tech week

*Coordination of each show’s strike (all departments)

*Basic repairs and notes during the run of a show

*Assistance with technical system issues as they arise

*Consistent weekly communications with all departments to ensure transparent and organized production planning

*Basic carpentry/painting to help with set load in and install

*Keeping SNS shop and costume storage organized and clean

*Basic errands and arranging purchase and rental returns, shipping and dry cleaning

*Overseeing Stage Management teams

*Ensuring the space is prepared for all aspects of production week

*Onstage Safety

*Production budgets

A strong candidate would possess skills in:

*Multi-tasking and organization

*Theater tech know-how and experience with lighting, sound and carpentry

*Autonomy with implication and enforcement of new policies 

*Leadership and communication 

*Problem solving on existing resources
